Director Saraswati Kavula’s delirious collage Vision 2020 satirizes the picture of smug satisfaction that is being drilled into our hearts and minds with much hullabaloo and asks us to reflect on the ground realities. In urban spaces- all chic neon and happy plastic faces and ooh-nice-baby catch-lines- one may even tend to overlook the absolute mess of the state of affairs to take in the “Vision” but what of the other India- the one where time is at a perpetual standstill and even hope for a better future is heavily short-changed.
